ABOUT COLOUR

Arch. Elena Zucchetti: “Our company was one of the first to develop the theme of colour in the world of tapware. In 1984 – with the Coriandoli line, designed by Raul Barbieri and Giorgio Marianelli – colour took centre-stage for the first time. This was a revolutionary breakthrough which renovated the classic cross handle tap by means of a vast range of colours. My father Mario was a firm believer in the importance of integrating disciplines and in a cross-contamination of the languages of research: a fusion of architecture and visual arts that would broaden and innovate our perception of a project. It is on this philosophy that our company strategies – past and present – are based.”

Zucchetti celebrates colour, its meanings, its subtleties.

Colour has the power to evoke different sensations and emotions. One of the simplest and most immediate means of personalising our domestic ambience is colour: eloquent in its expression of a sense of space, and of movement. The choice of a nuance can have a significant influence on the atmosphere of a room.

Today we are experiencing a renewed focus on the home. Matters such as controlling our ‘territory', and having the freedom to conceive it, have become essential for each one of us. Colour expresses individual identity; in fact, it is no coincidence that its perception changes from culture to culture.

The chromatic scale, from light to dark, is synonymous of a state of mind, of a feeling: intense, pleasant, sad or joyful.

In his writings, Goethe sustained that colours have “a sensitive and moral action” as well as an aesthetic and artistic function: a ‘human' element, whose perfection is perceived both in the eyes and in the spirituality of the soul of the beholder.

Today, Zucchetti reinterprets colour, proposing a broad range of finishes, in response to the many requirements of contemporary living.

The company has always been open to innovation and to new technologies, and for years has had its own completely automated painting department. In 2001, ANVER (the National Association of Painters) awarded Zucchetti the Certificate of Merit “Top 20 2001: best powder-coated products”. A recognition of the quality of Zucchetti's products and production processes, always on the leading edge of the market.

For Zucchetti, tapware is now invested with a new purpose: beyond the purely functional, it has become a decorative element in its own right, capable of lending personality to any type of ambience.
