TEMPORARY STOP BY 6UT
Temporary Stop is a Bed and Breakfast surrounded by green, designed for people who need to spend a short period in Milan. The facility responds in an innovative and unique way to the needs of young professionals. The B&B wants to have a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, a place where you can study, work and relax, also taking advantage of nearby sport facilities. Two entrances (pedestrian or cycle) are available. The pedestrian entrance is the main access point and it is aligned with the villa. A green area modelled as a wave is like a filter that attracts and welcomes people, also with the installation of sculptures and creations, objects of designers and artists and in the meanwhile it hides the garden functional areas: breakfast area, relax area and multifunctional area. From the entrance, the villa is crossed by green, as a mark on the ground, that in the garden back is once again turf. The project idea is allowing to live outdoor as much as possible, moving outside all gatherings, included the breakfast, thanks to wide gazebos completely closable. The gazebos become real external rooms, that create a usable place both in summer and winter. The multifunctional area is characterized by the use of the pallet as temporary project element, because it is reusable and changing in use. The basic unit is repeated to adjust the space and create real rooms, that can change function during different seasons: place of reading, study or workshop in the spring and summer, will become bicycle storage or display space in winter. A real outdoor cinema/amphitheatre, where the sittings are ground placed pallets, that are integrated with the green to experience the outdoors and aggregation outside, always in a temporary and changeable way. The relax area moves, in some provocative way, the sleeping moment outside the villa. The space is divided creating rooms without walls, composed only by large beds lying on pebbles; it is possible to live resting moments wrapped by the scent of aromatic plants, such as lavender, and by the colors of hydrangea, hyacinth, lupine and allium. During the good season it is also possible to refresh yourself thanks to “Waterwall” by Zucchetti. Kos showers: two simple rectangular totems, characterized by a blade water jet, placed in the perimeter border made of evergreen boxwood.
